Public bodies reform

2021 set the agenda for Reform of Public Bodies, here some of the key milestones:

15 June 2021, Number 10 issued a Declaration on Government Reform.

23 June 2021, National Audit Office issued a landscape report on Arm’s-Length Bodies: Central Oversight of Public Bodies.

5 July 2021, Public Accounts Committee held a session to assess government’s handling of Arm’s-Length Bodies. Preliminary correspondence from Cabinet Office outlines a new Public Bodies Reform.

23 September 2021, the release of Commissioner of Public Appointments Annual Report.  

24 September 2021, Public Accounts Committee release a report of findings, Government’s handling of Arm’s-Length Bodies.

11 April 2022, Cabinet Office published guidance on, Arm’s-length body board reviews and appraisals.

26 April 2022, Cabinet Office announced, The Public Bodies Reviews Prorgramme. 

23 May 2022, Cabinet Office issued, The sponsorship code of good practice.
