Informal mentoring

PCF provides informal, ad-hoc, tailored mentoring for Chairs new to Public Service or those struggling with a particular challenge.

If you’re interested in being paired with another PCF member, or volunteering to become a Mentor, please get in touch.

At the beginning of 2021, PCF collaborated with Cabinet Office and OCPA to launch the ‘Public Appointments Mentoring Scheme’. This was a pilot as sanctioned in the Civil Service Diversity Action Plan, supporting near-miss candidates for Non-Executive Director (NED) Roles.

Throughout the year, PCF members have supported aspiring NED candidates, through individual mentoring relationships and several masterclasses.
