PCF conference ‘Trust, Leadership and Social Cohesion’

May 21 2019

8.30am- 1.30pm

There’s no doubt that the UK is suffering from a lack of trust in its political institutions, notably heightened by the 2008 financial crisis and divisive discourse surrounding Brexit. This half-day conference, in association with Saxton Bampfylde, will be an opportunity to consider some of these issues, and the role of public body leaders in rebuilding trust with communities and understanding their customers to deliver high standards of public service.

The conference will begin with a networking breakfast, before opening with a keynote speech from The Rt. Hon Oliver Dowden MP, Minister for Implementation, Cabinet Office. He will be followed by a panel discussion, ‘Building trust through effective governance’. Panel speakers include Professor Sir John Curtice, Professor of Politics at Strathclyde University, and Chief Commentator at What UK Thinks: EU;  Dame Julie Mellor, Chair of Demos; Javed Khan, Chief Executive with Barnardo’s; and Lucy Smith, Director General for UK Governance. We will round off with a closing keynote speech from Tim Hughes, Director of Involve.

PA Consulting is hosting a pre-conference dinner in central London at Quaglino’s, from 6pm, Monday 20 May for those attending the conference.
