Good Governance & Dealing with Allegations of Harassment

November 05 2019

10am - 12 noon

Recent years have seen an increase in the number of media reports of alleged failures by companies to prevent, failing to manage and covering up harassment in the workplace. The imbalance of power that can exist between employers and employees can prevent employees from speaking out. Such behaviour can have a corrosive effect on both the individuals involved, as well as impacting the culture and performance of the organisation, when not dealt with. This seminar provides an opportunity to hear from:

- Rt Hon Maria Miller MP, Chair of the Women and Equalities Select Committee
- Rt Hon Sir Oliver Heald MP appointed to the Independent High-Level Commission on Sexual Misconduct, Accountability and Culture Change at Oxfam.
- Dame Sue Owen, Former Permanent Secretary for the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and former Civil Service LGB&T champion
- Jane Cockram, National Officer, FDA Union
- Elizabeth Prochaska, Legal Director, Equality and Human Rights Commission
